Follow these steps carefully
On the 2011-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2: loosen the lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it on jack stands under the designated lift points. Remove the front wheel. Turn the steering to improve access to the upper ball joint.
On the 2011-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2: remove the cotter pin and castle nut (or torque-to-yield nut) from the upper ball joint stud. Use a ball-joint separator or pickle fork carefully to free the stud from the steering knuckle without tearing the boot of adjacent joints. Support the knuckle so the brake hose and ABS wire are not stretched.
On the 2011-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2: for bolt-in joints, remove the mounting bolts from the upper control arm. For press-in joints, use the correct press kit adapters. Note orientation and any alignment eccentric washers.
