Follow these steps carefully
On the 2007-2011 Jeep Wrangler JK: loosen the axle nut and lug nuts on level ground, then raise the Jeep Wrangler and support it on jack stands. Remove the wheel. If replacing a complete CV axle assembly (common DIY approach), also loosen the axle nut fully once the vehicle is supported.
On the 2007-2011 Jeep Wrangler JK: remove the axle nut. Separate the tie-rod or ball joint only as needed for clearance. Push the CV stub out of the hub — use a punch only on the nut face if specified, never on the CV threads. Support the knuckle so the ABS wire and brake hose are not stretched.
On the 2007-2011 Jeep Wrangler JK: for a bolted inner CV, remove the flange bolts; for a splined tripode, pry the inner joint carefully from the transmission/differential until it pops free. Catch fluid if the output seal is disturbed. Slide the axle out as an assembly.
