Follow these steps carefully
On the 2017-2022 Kia Sportage: on level ground, crack the front wheel lug nuts loose while the tire is on the ground. Chock the rear wheels, jack the front at the approved lift point, and support with jack stands rated for the vehicle. Remove the wheel. Wear gloves and eye protection.
On the 2017-2022 Kia Sportage: place a jack or stand under the lower control arm/knuckle to support it. Disconnect the sway-bar end link and any ABS/brake-hose brackets attached to the strut. Do not let the brake hose or ABS wire stretch.
On the 2017-2022 Kia Sportage: remove the strut-to-knuckle pinch bolt(s) or bolts. If stuck, apply penetrant and carefully tap the knuckle ears — do not hammer the threads. Lower the knuckle slightly to free the strut tube. Note orientation of any camber bolts/eccentrics for reassembly.
