Follow these steps carefully
Park on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and let the engine cool for at least 30 minutes. Gather all tools, oil, and filter. Informational DIY. EZ Car Fix is not a shop.
Use a floor jack to lift the front of the vehicle at the designated jacking points. Support with jack stands — never work under a vehicle supported only by a hydraulic jack.
Position the drain pan under the oil pan. Remove the drain plug with the appropriate socket. Allow all oil to fully drain — this may take 5–10 minutes.
Locate the oil filter. Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter. Lubricate the new filter's rubber gasket with fresh oil, then install and hand-tighten.
Install a new drain plug washer if applicable, then thread the drain plug back in by hand to avoid cross-threading. Torque to specification using a torque wrench.
Lower the vehicle. Remove the oil filler cap, insert a funnel, and pour in the specified amount and viscosity of new oil. Start the engine, check for leaks, then check the dipstick level and top off as needed.
Test your repair before closing everything up. If something doesn't work right, double-check your steps.
