Follow these steps carefully
With the 2005-2014 Nissan Maxima engine off and cool, open the hood and find the mass air flow sensor in the intake tube between the air box and throttle body. Wear gloves and eye protection.
Unplug the MAF electrical connector on the 2005-2014 Nissan Maxima. Remove the screws or clamps holding the sensor (or the meter section of the intake tube). Do not drop the sensor or touch the sensing element with fingers.
Spray mass-air-flow sensor cleaner liberally across the hot-wire or film element and housing. Never use carb cleaner, brake cleaner, or a brush on the 2005-2014 Nissan Maxima MAF element — they can destroy it. Let it air-dry completely.
