Follow these steps carefully
Park the Astra, switch off the ignition, and turn the blower fully off. Slide the passenger seat all the way back and empty the glove box. You now have room to work under the dashboard.

Look at the side of the dashboard by the passenger door and pop off the small side cover to expose the hidden glove box screw. The video shows exactly which covers to remove first. Keep the cover where it will not get scratched.

Using the 7mm socket, remove the screws securing the glove box, including the one behind the side cover and the screws along the top edge inside the box. Support the glove box with one hand as the last screw comes out. Lower it gently and unplug the glove box light connector.

Behind the glove box you will see the rectangular cabin filter cover on the HVAC housing. Release its clips and pull the cover away. The old filter is now visible in its slot.

Slide the old filter out of the housing, noting the direction of the airflow arrows on its frame. Astra J filters often come out slightly bent from the tight channel; pull steadily. Lay it beside the new filter to confirm the size matches.

Orient the new filter so its airflow arrows point the same direction as the old filter did. Feed it into the channel, keeping it flat so no edge folds over. The filter is seated when it sits fully inside with its end flush.
Press the housing cover back on until its clips engage. Lift the glove box into place, reconnect the light connector, and refit all the 7mm screws, including the hidden one behind the side cover. Snap the side cover back on.
Start the car and run the blower on every speed, checking for strong airflow from the vents and no rattles from the dashboard. The job is finished when the glove box opens and closes normally and the cabin air flows clean and strong.
