Follow these steps carefully
On the 2002-2007 Subaru WRX/STI: park on level ground, set the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery cable if working near the pedal box. Place rags under the clutch master reservoir and firewall fittings — clutch fluid damages paint. Top the reservoir only with the specified DOT brake fluid.
On the 2002-2007 Subaru WRX/STI: inside the cabin, disconnect the pushrod from the clutch pedal. Under the hood, disconnect the hydraulic line(s) with a flare-nut wrench and catch fluid in a drain pan. Unbolt the master cylinder from the firewall and remove it carefully so residual fluid does not drip on painted surfaces.
On the 2002-2007 Subaru WRX/STI: raise and support the vehicle on jack stands if the slave is external, or access it at the transmission bellhousing. Disconnect the hydraulic line and unbolt the slave cylinder. Note orientation of any banjo washers or O-rings — replace them; do not reuse crushed copper washers.
