Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps carefully

Confirm the misfire diagnosis

Scan the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner for DTCs and identify the cylinder. Inspect the spark plug, coil boot, connector, harness, injector, intake leaks, and compression before condemning the coil; swap-test only when safe and appropriate.

Cool the engine and prepare safely

Park the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner on level ground, set the parking brake, switch the ignition off, let the engine cool, and disconnect the negative battery cable if required by the service procedure. Keep clear of EV/high-voltage parts.

Remove covers and gain access
