Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps carefully

Remove the spark plug cover

Unbolt the plug wire cover running along the top of the valve cover. Lift it off to expose the plug wires and wells.

Label and remove the plug wires

Label each plug wire with its cylinder number using tape, then twist and pull each boot off its plug. Do not yank the wires themselves.

Remove the old plugs

With the 16 mm spark plug socket and extensions, remove all six plugs. Check their condition for signs of oil fouling or lean running.

Gap and install the new plugs

Set each new plug's gap to 0.032 in (0.8 mm). Thread each plug in by hand, then torque to 13 ft-lb.

Reconnect the wires in order

Push each labeled wire boot firmly onto its correct plug following the 1-5-3-6-2-4 firing order. Each boot should click onto the plug.

Refit the cover and test

Reinstall the plug wire cover. Start the engine and confirm a smooth idle, then road test for full power.
