Follow these steps carefully
As the 2CarPros tutorial shows for the 2002–2007 Vue, start by loosening the front lug nuts on level ground. Raise the front of the Vue, secure it on jack stands, and remove the wheel. Review all safety precautions in the video before touching the brakes.
Remove the caliper guide bolts and lift the caliper off the rotor, supporting it with a hanger so the hose carries no weight. Slide the worn pads out of the bracket and inspect the rotor surface for deep scoring. Note the hardware clip positions before removing them.
If replacing rotors, unbolt the caliper bracket and slide the old rotor off. Clean the hub mating surface thoroughly with a wire brush — the number-one cause of post-job pulsation is rust trapped under the new rotor. Clean the bracket slides with brake cleaner.
Lubricate the caliper guide pins with silicone brake grease and verify they slide smoothly in their bores. Compress the caliper piston fully back into its bore with a piston tool. Install the new hardware clips into the bracket ears.
Slide the new pads into the greased clips, friction side toward the rotor, and confirm they move freely. Reinstall the caliper over the pads and torque the guide bolts; torque the bracket bolts with thread-lock if the bracket was removed. Refit the wheel, lower the Vue, and torque the lugs in a star pattern.
Pump the brake pedal until it firms up and check the master-cylinder fluid level. Take the Vue for a careful low-speed test, then bed the pads with several moderate stops from 35 mph. Recheck the lug nut torque after the test drive.
