Dimming Lights / Electrical Gremlins

    Slipping belt underdrives the alternator.

How to diagnose it — in order

    Test battery voltage off (12.4V+) and running (13.5-14.5V).

    Inspect the main ground cables for corrosion and tightness.

  3. 3

    Watch headlights at idle vs 2000 RPM; brightening with revs means weak charging.

  4. 4

    Check the serpentine belt for cracks and proper tension.
