Follow these steps carefully
Park the 2019-2024 BMW Z4 on level ground, set the parking brake, and shut the engine off. Open the hood and locate the engine air filter housing (usually a black plastic box with an intake snorkel). Informational DIY — EZ Car Fix is not a shop.
On the 2019-2024 BMW Z4, release the metal clips, spring clamps, or remove the screws securing the air box lid. Set fasteners aside carefully so none fall into the engine bay.
Lift out the old engine air filter from the BMW Z4 housing. Wipe or carefully vacuum dust and leaves from the box — keep debris away from the throttle-body / intake opening.
Seat the new engine air filter in the 2019-2024 BMW Z4 housing with the rubber seal fully seated in the groove (match the old filter’s orientation). Do not leave gaps around the edges.
Close the 2019-2024 BMW Z4 air box lid evenly and refasten all clips or screws. Confirm the intake tube connections are snug, then start the engine and listen for unusual induction whistle that could mean a poor seal.
