Follow these steps carefully
Place the transmission in PARK, lock the parking brake, and remove the seat by lifting straight up on its rear edge and sliding it toward the rear of the machine. The airbox sits underneath.
Wipe every bit of dirt and debris away from the air filter cover and the area around the airbox before you open anything. Dirt that falls inside the airbox goes straight toward the engine intake.
Release the airbox cover clamps and lift the cover off. Loosen the filter clamp with a 6mm socket or a flat screwdriver, then slide the air filter out of the airbox.
Pull the foam pre-filter off the main filter and look both over carefully. Replace the main filter if it is torn, oil-soaked, or fuel-soaked; a soaked filter can never be cleaned back to spec.
Farm dust packs these filters fast. If you run in harvested fields or on gravel every day, check the filter weekly instead of waiting for the service interval; a clogged filter quietly strangles power and fuel economy.
Wash the pre-filter in warm soapy water, rinse it, and let it air-dry completely. Never try to clean the paper main filter, even with compressed air. Wipe the inside of the airbox clean.
Install the dry pre-filter over the main filter so the screen covers the whole surface with no folds, creases, or gaps. Seat the main filter fully on its supports inside the airbox.
Tighten the filter clamp to 35 in-lbs (4 Nm). Inspect the cover seal and replace it if it is cracked, then refit the cover, fasten the clamps, and reinstall the seat.
Test your repair before closing everything up. If something doesn't work right, double-check your steps.
